Cleaning up a custom pendant lamp

Spent most of today cleaning up a customer’s piece before it goes off for sanding and paint. It’s a 30cm relief with roses and acanthus leaves. They ordered it to go above their fireplace, they just wanted that old hand carved look for the room.

It’s slow work. Just going over every leaf and petal with the knife, tidying up the edges and getting the detail clean so it reads right once it’s painted. Nothing exciting but it makes a big difference later on.

Sanding next, then primer and paint. More soon.
