Why people love the Skygarden.
Marcel Wanders designed it for Flos in 2007, inspired by the stucco ceiling of an old apartment he didn't want to leave behind. The plaster bas-relief inside is the reason the lamp has stayed on dining-room ceilings for nearly two decades.
It's a beautiful product. It's also €720+ at 40 cm, €2,000–€2,500 at 60 cm, and €2,800+ at 90 cm — fixed in one relief pattern, from a licensed production line, with 8–14 weeks of lead time through dealers.
Handcrafted in bio-resin, not cast plaster.
Each lamp is formed in a single piece from bio-resin — a plant-derived material — then sanded and painted by hand. Lighter than plaster, biodegradable under industrial composting.
Four-week lead, not two months.
A two-person atelier delivers bespoke in four weeks (six for 100–120 cm Atelier commissions) — dramatically faster than the 8–14 weeks most bespoke lighting takes. The trade will know what that means.

Weight at 60 cm: our plant-derived bio-resin piece is roughly a quarter of a Skygarden in cast plaster. Lighter fixtures are easier on ceiling roses and simpler to ship internationally.

Is this a Skygarden replica?
No. Replicas copy a licensed design. We make bespoke bas-relief pendants in a different material, to your design. If you want a Skygarden, buy a Skygarden — Flos sells it directly.
You're priced similarly to the Flos — what's the difference?
We sit close to Flos on price because we're a handcrafted peer, not a discount alternative. What you get instead: a pattern drawn for your room (not one of three fixed reliefs), hand-painted in a colour we mix locally for your lamp, signed by the maker, delivered in four weeks instead of 8–14. The Flos Skygarden is beautiful mass-cast plaster. Ours is bespoke handcrafted bio-resin, one-of-a-kind.
Can you make it look exactly like the Skygarden?
No — we won't copy a licensed design. We can make something in a similar aesthetic spirit (radial bas-relief, dome shape, ornate interior) but it will be your pattern, not theirs.
What about shipping, warranty, and returns?
Insured shipping worldwide, signature on delivery. Two-year warranty on finish and product. Full refund if you don't love it — custom or not. We photograph every finished lamp before shipping so you can approve the piece first.
Why four weeks when the Flos takes 8–14?
Because we're two people in one atelier, not a distribution network. Every lamp is made by the people who designed it with you. That's also why it's capped at six weeks for 100–120 cm Atelier commissions — we'd rather hit a realistic date than miss an ambitious one.
I still want a Skygarden — where should I go?
Directly to Flos (flos.com) or an authorised reseller. Don't buy replicas — they're poor copies, and unlicensed work harms the designers we all benefit from.
